Get ready to raise your voice! This page provides the complete rehearsal schedule for the First Congregational UCC Alpena | Dr. Joseph Martin Choir Clinic May 2026. We hope the clear and easy-to-understand format will keep you informed and excited to participate. All crucial information, including dates, times, locations, and Zoom links (if applicable), are provided below.
Rehearsals are offered as a bonus for workshop registrants! Dr. Martin asks that the attendees know the music, or are at least familiar with their part before the workshop. The rehearsals are optional, but suggested and offered to help all attendees get the most out of the workshop! If you are unable to make one or more of the rehearsals, we will upload the Zoom recordings of the rehearsals to this website. If you are unable to make the rehearsals, that is not a disqualifier for the workshop.
Meet Dr. Joseph Martin
Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, | 7pm
Virtual Zoom meeting with Dr. Martin to introduce the group to the songs we’ll be singing and get to know him. He will introduce us to the pieces and get us excited for the May 15th-17th Weekend of Music with him!
Rehearsals before the clinic:
To get the most out of this event, workshop participants are asked to become familiar with the music in advance. The workshop itself will focus on fine-tuning the repertoire, shaping musical details, and building ensemble artistry rather than learning notes from scratch. To support singers, First Congregational UCC will host a series of preparatory rehearsals so that everyone arrives confident, prepared, and ready to make music at a high level.
A joyful attitude and a willingness to learn are highly encouraged! Please also bring a pencil.
